Even though I’m a fairly devote Roman Catholic I love N.T. Wright, I’m currently reading his book “The Challenge of Jesus” and it’s terrific. Whats very interesting about Wright is that he’s considered by most to be highly conservative, but in this interview when he is talking about Christ coming in glory he links it to the birth of Jesus, which is the beginning of the Christian eschatological event, so we need to participate in making the new kingdom on earth, which I know will grate on a lot of evangelicals nerves. I also found it funny when he says we look things up in big books.

It’s great to see someone, especially a Christian author, hold his own under Colbert’s rapid fire interrogation. Wright even shuts him up once or twice.
